I've always seen white as tacky and cheap, but when it's done right it looks amazing, as shown above. All white was huge on the catwalks for Summer/Spring 2011. It's a great alternative to the colour block trend or to accompany the block colours.

To achieve the all white look right, you have to focus on the fabric and the silhouette of the outfit to stop it from looking cheap and tacky. 

Fabric wise look for sheer and flowing fabrics. 

Silhouette wise look at structured and minimalist garments.

Personally, I believe the all white trend works better kept simple, with no added details, such as trims.

Also white looks great against tan and dark skin, so great for summer.

The only thing is I'll probably have to be covered in plastic, so I won't get chocolate or make-up on the white.
