The Classic

During my last week at my Internship, Mr Start launched their women's shirt line and I was kindly gifted one of their shirts when I left.
The shirt gave me the idea for today's blogpost.

I used to detest the white shirt and I am sure, those who had to wear a school uniform or still do will agree.
The white shirt is a classic and staple piece and everyone should have a good quality white shirt in their wardrobe, whether male or female.
However, you can achieve so many looks with a white shirt, whether it be a smart, preppy, tailored, boyish or casual look.

I went for a boyfriend style shirt as it gives a more modern and casual feel but you still look smart and casual at the same time.
In this post I will be sharing with you how I would wear the classic staple piece.

Basic:
A great way and the most simple way of styling a white shirt is with a pair of jeans, it's so simple and effortless but you still look put together especially when you add a pair of heels to the mix. I added a leopard pair of heels to bring more attention to the outfit.

Jeans: Just Female
Heels: Dune

Towned down girly:
A-line skirts in particular are very girly adding a piece like a boyfriend shirt takes some of that girly-ness away, and also adds a smart edge great for an office/meeting outfit.

Evening Out/ Drinks/Meal:
This is more of a monochromatic look, black trousers and a white shirt always look classy especially when tailored right, I added a pair of neon heels to add a pop of colour. The first look I paired with a textured jacket and statement necklace, an outfit perhaps ideal for a meal/date. For the second look I toughened it up with my beloved leather jacket.

Trousers: Made by Me

Complimenting a bright print:
Another way of wearing a white shirt is my using it to town down a colourful and playful print.
I think this would be a way of making a loud pattern work for the office and to give the item a smarter feel.

In touch with my roots

Dressed a little different for this post, attended an Igbo Festival on Saturday. I don't actually own any traditional wear, so had to borrow from the mother.
I should get some made or send some pictures of what I want, but the last time I did that, which was prom, you should have seen the horrendous-ity my dad brought back.
I refused to wear it.

Dune Group Press Day

Felt so bad for not having blogged for so long, then I remembered the pictures from The Dune Group A/W 2012/13 press day, with the brands Dune, Pied a Terre, Bertie, I think there was another brand but it was a few weeks ago, so can't remember. Shame on me, and I am a Dune Sales Advisor as well.

I loved all the metal detailing such as the toe caps, studding and metal details on the heels as well as the snake prints and leopard prints, can't wait to put my staff discount to good use.
Some of these items are already in store, so worth having a look if you've seen anything of interest to you.

Thanks to Chimson for inviting me.
Hope you liked the shoes, just as much as I did.
We're going to be having Steve Madden in our store soon, so looking forward to that when I get home.
Promise to be back to blogging once my Internship is done.
One more week to go, don't want to leave London :(

Bloggers Meet up Announcement!

Sorry for the absence, I started my internship this week as some of you may know and I'm too tired to do anything by the time I get home.
The best way to keep up with me is on Instagram (@5inchheels), where I have been doing daily updates of my internship and what I've been wearing.
Planning to a post of what I've been wearing on here, because me Iphone lens is not the best.

Well to the point of this post, we've finally arranged a date and place for the blogger's meet.
Which is going to be:

Wednesday, 8th of August
7.30 pm
at Giraffe Restaurant in Spitafields

If you are a blogger/vlogger or just want to meet people face to face you are welcome to come.
Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones.

If you have any question or to look out for updates follow me on twitter (@5inchheels).

Looking forward to meeting whoever makes it.
