During my last week at my Internship, Mr Start launched their women's shirt line and I was kindly gifted one of their shirts when I left.
The shirt gave me the idea for today's blogpost.
I used to detest the white shirt and I am sure, those who had to wear a school uniform or still do will agree.
The white shirt is a classic and staple piece and everyone should have a good quality white shirt in their wardrobe, whether male or female.
However, you can achieve so many looks with a white shirt, whether it be a smart, preppy, tailored, boyish or casual look.
I went for a boyfriend style shirt as it gives a more modern and casual feel but you still look smart and casual at the same time.
In this post I will be sharing with you how I would wear the classic staple piece.
Basic:
A great way and the most simple way of styling a white shirt is with a pair of jeans, it's so simple and effortless but you still look put together especially when you add a pair of heels to the mix. I added a leopard pair of heels to bring more attention to the outfit.
Shirt: Mr Start Women
Jeans: Just Female
Heels: Dune
Towned down girly:
A-line skirts in particular are very girly adding a piece like a boyfriend shirt takes some of that girly-ness away, and also adds a smart edge great for an office/meeting outfit.
Shirt: Mr Start Women
Skirt: Forever21
Heels: Primark
Necklace: Mum's
Evening Out/ Drinks/Meal:
This is more of a monochromatic look, black trousers and a white shirt always look classy especially when tailored right, I added a pair of neon heels to add a pop of colour. The first look I paired with a textured jacket and statement necklace, an outfit perhaps ideal for a meal/date. For the second look I toughened it up with my beloved leather jacket.
Shirt: Mr Start Women
Jacket 1: M&S
Jacket 2: Clothes Show
Trousers: Made by Me
Trousers: Made by Me
Heels: H&M
Necklace: Mum's
Complimenting a bright print:
Another way of wearing a white shirt is my using it to town down a colourful and playful print.
I think this would be a way of making a loud pattern work for the office and to give the item a smarter feel.
